Nature and the Seasons have always been an inspiration for Susanne Kongoy, both in her capacity as a professional chef and now as the owner of GRDN
In April 2004, she opened GRDN: For the Urban Gardener. GRDN is a specialty garden and home store located on Hoyt Street in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. GRDN offers practical and stylish products for the urban gardener, including containers, garden ornaments, and garden furniture. For the home, there is a selection of "garden to table" items including cookbooks, tableware, natural linens, and beeswax candles.
GRDN also stocks a wide variety of interesting outdoor and indoor plants and operated as a full service florist. The selection of cut flowers varies week to week with only the freshest seasonal available. Susanne's culinary background comes together with the garden: fresh herbs, raspberries, articokes, and blueberries by the bunch or stem combine with cut flowers to create beautiful and unique arrangements with a twist.
